Our Process

Six calm steps. No surprises.

The same guided path on every project: what happens, what you'll know, and what comes next at each step, so the project feels handled from the first call.

  1. A warm, sunlit South Florida living room with impact windows opening onto a calm bay.

    Step 01 · Request

    It starts with a conversation.

    What to expect
A short conversation about your home, your openings, and what you want to protect. No pressure, and nothing to prepare. Photos help but aren’t required.
    What comes next
We schedule your free on-site estimate at a time that works for you.
    How we communicate
You’ll have a direct contact from day one: a person, not a queue.
  2. A Coastal Impact technician measuring a window opening, with precise dimension lines marked on the glass.

    Step 02 · Measure

    We measure every opening precisely.

    What to expect
A technician walks your home and measures every opening precisely. This visit is also where we listen: which rooms run hot, where noise bothers you, what look you want.
    What comes next
Your measurements become the basis for product options and a quote built for your actual openings. Nothing is guessed or averaged.
    How we communicate
We confirm the appointment ahead of time and respect your schedule and your home while we’re there.
  3. Two premium impact window and door systems shown side by side for comparison.

    Step 03 · Compare

See exactly what fits your home.

    What to expect
Curated options for your openings, side by side: styles, frames, glass, and the trade-offs in plain English. We’ll tell you when the simpler option is the right one.
    What comes next
You choose what fits your home and budget; we finalize the specification.
    How we communicate
Questions between visits go straight to your contact by email, call, or text, whatever you prefer.
  4. A clear printed project quote and plan resting on a table, ready to approve.

    Step 04 · Approve

Your quote and plan, locked in clearly.

    What to expect
A written quote with the scope, the products (down to series and approvals), the price, and the expected sequence. You review it on your own time.
    What comes next
When you approve, we order your custom-manufactured units and prepare the permit package.
    How we communicate
Nothing proceeds without your written approval, and nothing in the scope changes without it either.
  5. A Coastal Impact crew installing a large impact sliding door cleanly and carefully.

    Step 05 · Install

    Installed professionally, cleaned up completely.

    What to expect
A scheduled installation by our crew: openings prepared, units set and sealed, work areas protected, and the site cleaned completely. We aim to leave your home better than we found it.
    What comes next
The required inspection verifies the work meets code; we coordinate it.
    How we communicate
You’ll know the schedule ahead of time and who will be in your home.
  6. A bright, calm interior at dusk, safe behind impact glass as weather passes outside.

    Step 06 · Relax

Protection outside. Peace of mind inside.

    What to expect
A final walkthrough: how every unit operates, how to care for it, and answers to anything you want to know. Then the season can do what it wants.
    What comes next
We stay reachable after the job. Post-install support is part of the work, not a favor.
    How we communicate
You keep your direct contact. If something ever needs attention, you know exactly who to call.

Handled for you

What Coastal takes off your plate.

  • Coordination

Scheduling, product ordering, and sequencing: the moving parts are ours to manage, not yours to chase.

  • Permitting support

We prepare the permit package, handle HOA approval paperwork where your community requires it, and coordinate required inspections as part of every installation.

  • Careful installation

Our crews protect floors and furnishings, work clean, and finish openings properly, sealing and detail work included.

  • Cleanup & walkthrough

Old units and debris leave with us. The project ends with a walkthrough, not a wave.

Installation day

How to prepare: a short, honest checklist.

  • Clear a working area around each opening. A few feet is plenty; we’ll protect the rest.
  • Take down curtains, blinds, and wall items near the openings if you can. We’ll help with anything heavy.
  • Disarm window alarm sensors with your provider, or let us know so we can plan around them.
  • Plan for pets, since doors will be open while crews move in and out.
  • Ask us anything before the day. A five-minute call beats a morning of uncertainty.

Timelines

What actually moves the calendar.

Manufacturing lead times

Every unit is custom-built to your openings, so manufacturer schedules set most of the calendar between approval and installation: typically about 6–10 weeks, confirmed with your quote.

Permit review

Every municipality in Florida runs its own permitting process and portal. There are hundreds, and knowing them is its own job. Our permit team files as soon as your contract is signed, so approval usually lands well before your units are even manufactured. It’s rarely the long pole.

Scope and structure

More openings take longer; enclosures with structural work involve extra steps. Your written quote lays out the expected sequence for your project.

Weather

Some installation work is weather-sensitive. When a day slips, we tell you promptly and reschedule quickly.

Questions

Process questions, answered plainly

How long does the whole process take, start to finish?

It depends on your scope, manufacturing lead times, and permit review (the honest variables above). The on-site installation itself typically takes just 1–3 days for a normal window and door project. What we commit to: a written expected sequence with your quote, and proactive updates whenever anything moves.

Do I need to be home during installation?

You don’t need to be. As long as we have access to the home and can reach you for decisions, the crew takes it from there. Many homeowners work from home, step out for the day, or simply hand us access.

What happens to my old windows and doors?

We haul them away as part of the job, along with all packaging and debris. Cleanup is part of the installation, not an extra.

What if something isn’t right after installation?

Call your contact. Post-install support is part of the process, and if something isn’t right per your contract, no stress: we’ll come out and take care of it. Every installation carries our 3-year labor warranty; product warranty specifics are confirmed in writing with your quote.

Can the process be phased across multiple projects?

Yes. Phased projects follow the same six steps per phase, and we plan the sequence so each phase stands on its own.

Step one is a conversation.

Tell us about your home and we'll schedule your free estimate, the first calm step of six.
